Apple is expected to launch the new iPhone series in September. Economic Daily News confirms that ‘iPhone 13’ will be the name of the upcoming smartphone series. The report details that there are going to be four models same as the iPhone 12 series with the same names: 5.4-inch iPhone mini, 6.1-inch iPhone, 6.1-inch iPhone Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max.
Industry sources have been claiming that name of the next-generation iPhone series will be iPhone 13. However, superstition attached to number 13 created some doubt in the branding. TrendFroce reported that as an extension of the current iPhone12 series, Apple will call the new smartphone series iPhone 12s. Having said that, writer at iThinkDifferent Imran Hussain pointed out that Apple released iOS 13 update, so it would not shy away from numbering the smartphone series 13.
Hon Hai gains all orders for new iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max
As per the supply chain source, Apple’s long-term iPhone assembly partner Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. will handle all iPhone Pro models. The report states that;
In the assembly order allocation, Hon Hai still the big winner, including all orders for the top 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max. , 68% of the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 is also handled by Hon Hai, and about 60% of the orders for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro are also taken by Hon Hai, assisting Hon Hai’s peak season camp in the second half of the year.
The supply chain reports that this year’s new iPhone will return to the situation announced in September of the previous year. The foundry will start shipping in the third quarter, and the peak of the pull will fall in the fourth quarter. Apple will launch four new models, namely the 6.7-inch iPhone 13. Pro Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro, and 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models, also named iPhone 13.
Estimate that sales of the upcoming iPhone series are going to be higher in the second half of 2021, Japanese investors have increased the shipments estimate from 82 million to 85 million, and the overall iPhone shipments will increase from 225 million to 228 million. Therefore, newly added Luxshare will share iPhone 13 orders with Hon Hai and Pegatron.
So far it is reported that the new series will be equipped with larger battery, smaller notch, improved camera system, LiDAR scanner across the series, and much more.
