iOS 27.3 and iPadOS 27.3 Public Betas Released With Redesigned Health App

Apple has released the iOS 27.3 public beta and iPadOS 27.3 public betah, and both bring the redesigned Health app to anyone enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program. The app only runs on iPhone and iPad models that support Apple Intelligence, and Health Age also needs an Apple Watch.

The redesign was pulled from iOS 27.2 before that update shipped, and the iOS 27.3 developer beta put it back on November 3. Apple says the redesigned Health app will roll out to everyone as a free software update later this year.

The new Health app needs an iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence

You need an iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence to use the redesigned Health app, and some features work only on iPhone. Health Age needs an Apple Watch, and the VO2 max test works with an Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3 or a third-party heart rate sensor. Some features are limited to users who are 18 or older.

The app supports global English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. German, Italian, Dutch, Danish and Swedish are missing even though Apple Intelligence works in those languages, and more languages are planned.

You can install the iOS 27 public beta for free through the Apple Beta Software Program, using the same Apple Account as your iPhone. Open Settings, General, Software Update and Beta Updates, then choose the public beta and update when iOS 27.3 appears. The steps are nearly the same for the iPadOS public beta on an iPad, and Apple recommends backing up first and installing betas on a secondary device.

Insights, Longevity and movement evaluations are the new parts of Health

The new Insights tab gives you summaries of your heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals and cycle tracking data through the day. A For You section adds recommendations based on your habits, such as changing your wind-down routine after several nights of interrupted sleep.

The Longevity tab follows your heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing and nutrition over time. Health Age sits at its center and turns Apple Watch data such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability into a measure of how your body is tracking against your age. You can also add lab results such as A1c and LDL cholesterol to your long-term data.

Movement evaluations use your iPhone camera and Apple Watch to measure flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics and VO2 max, with live audio and visual feedback. Apple says the vision-based models run entirely on device, and no video is recorded, stored or shared.

The iOS 27.3 public beta also adds Safari vertical tabs and new Siri AI actions

  • Safari vertical tabs move your tab list to the side of the screen on iPhone and iPad, and Adaptive Dark Mode shows bright websites in a dark view when they have no dark theme of their own.
  • New Siri AI actions let you ask Siri AI to make and save a playlist in Music or schedule an iMessage to send later.
  • iPadOS 27.3 supports Siri mode in the Camera app on iPad.
  • iPhone Duo Reachability shifts the screen to the left or right instead of down, which brings the far edge within reach of your thumb.
  • StandBy on other iPhones gets the iPhone Duo clock faces, with colors and complications you can adjust.
  • Apple Fitness+ Gym Strength builds a four-week workout plan around your goals and equipment, and each week adapts to the reps and weight you log.
